Once the domain is registered

All Bosnian domain names registered with us are stored on our international server. Domains registered with us are automatically provided with their own under-construction page - this notifies potential registrants that the name has been acquired and is now registered. The under-construction page is offered free of charge and may be used indefinitely.

It is possible for Web and/or Mail forwarding to be provided for Bosnian domains.

Domain transfer/release fees are charged are by a majority of registrars, but BB Online make no charge to transfer a domain to another Bosnian domain name registrar.

Background

.ba domain names are limited to a maximum of 20 for companies/organisations, and 5 for individuals.

You need a local presence in Bosnia and Herzegovina to register under .ba, if you are a company or organisation, you need a branch there. When applying for a .ba domain name, the registry ask for a "power of attorney, notarized and in two languages".

Registration takes place under sub-domains of .ba, these are:

• .edu.ba - for schools and companies whose primary activity offers training/education
• .org.ba - organisations and associations
• .net.ba - Internet Service Providers and related
• .gov.ba - government departments and municipal bodies
• .unsa.ba - for Sarajevo University
• .unbi.ba - for Bihać University

The maximum length of a .ba domain name is 63 characters, the minimum is 3 characters.

The registration of names which match the following is forbidden:

• standard top level generic domains (com, org, net, biz, name and similar)
• "represents obvious injuries of the third person rights (right of the name, firm, stamp, public person names and similar)"
• domain names that represents the expression of racial, religious or national non-tolerance and similar
• "obvious injury of the society moral norms"
• represents obvious injury of the legal order
• represents unauthorized use of "Bosnia & Herzegovina"

The registration will take ten days from receipt of a correctly completed application, the .ba registry state.

If a company is applying for a domain name, the registry ask for a copy of a Certificate of Incorporation, or similar document. For individuals, a copy of a passport and alid certification of the residence on the Bosnia and Herzegovina territory is requested for foreign applicants. For residents of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the registry ask for the copy of any valid identifying document with the photograph (personal card, passport, driving license) if the applicant is an individual, if a company based in Bosnia and Herzegovina is applying, the registry ask for a copy of the registration at the authorized organ (economic subject register, assotiation register, organization register, lawyer register and similar).
